Family visitor visa for Singapore
Foreigners wanting to visit their families, friends, relatives in Singapore must apply for a visa for social visit (short term visit pass).

Documents required
1) Completed Form 14A (original) .
2) One recent passport-sized colour photograph (to be pasted on the top right-hand corner of (Form 14A) which meets the following requirements:

  • Image must be taken within the last 3 months .
  • Photograph should be in colour, must be taken against a white
  • background with a matt or semi-matt finish .
  • Image must show the full face and without headgear (headgear worn in
  • accordance with religious or racial customs is acceptable but must not hide
  • the facial features) .

3) Photocopy of the applicant's passport biodata page. Please ensure that the passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
4) Completed Form V39A (Letter of Introduction for Visa Application).
5) Local contact's Singapore Identity Card (original and photocopy).

Letter of Introduction (LOI) may be issued by a local contact in Singapore. Any Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who is at least 21 years old can act as a local contact. If you are not able to furnish a LOI from a local contact, you may approach your Embassy to issue a LOI to support your visa application.

The applicant and the local contact may be required to furnish additional documents and information whenever necessary.  Official translations of the documents are required if they are not in the English language.

Visa extension
Social visitors who require a longer period of stay beyond the Visit Pass granted on entry into Singapore may submit an application for extension of stay (not more than 89 days from the date of entry) online via e-XTEND. 

You are required to fulfill all of the following conditions for submission of application online via e-XTEND: 

  • You have not previously sought/ obtained an extension of stay on this trip.
  • You wish to extend your stay for not more than 89 days from the date of entry into Singapore.
  • Your Visit Pass has a remaining validity of not less than 2 days, excluding Sundays and public holiday.
  • You will not return to Singapore within 5 days from the departure date of your current trip.
  • You will require a local sponsor if you are seeking an extension of short term Visit Pass to 89 days from the date of entry or if you are a national of Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Somalia, Tunisia, Algeria, Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan, Sudan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Syria or a holder of Palestinian Authority Passport, Temporary Passport issued by the United Arab Emirates and Refugee Travel Document issued by Middle-East countries.

Visa processing time
The processing time is 3 working days (excluding the date of submission, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) to process. However, some applications may take a longer time to process.
