The Embassy does not process visa applications. Visa services are provided by Australian Visa Application Centres (AVACs) operated by VFS Global.
Tourist visa requirements:
- Completed and signed Form 1419
- Payment of the Australian Government Visa Application Charge.
- Copy of valid passport.
- Any evidence of international travel history in the last 5 years (e.g. visa stamp and/or immigration stamp).
- One recent passport-sized photograph.
- Evidence of employment and sufficient funds.
- Any child under the age of 18 who is travelling without either one or both of the parents, Form 1229 must be completed by both parents or Signed statement from the non-travelling parent(s).
- Any child under the age of 18 years who is travelling without either one or both of the parents, evidence demonstrating parent/s and child relationship must be provided.
- Applicants aged 75 years or older must submit evidence of medical insurance covering the duration of their stay in Australia.
Qatar passport holders are also eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or eVisitor.
Consular fees are payable in Qatari Riyals by credit/debit card only (cash, cheques and other currencies will not be accepted)
On 31 March 2017, the Australian Government announced increased security measures for passengers flying direct to Australia from Doha. Airlines flying directly to Australia from three major transit airports in the Middle East will begin additional screening measures at the boarding gates.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
