| When to apply for a Neso Certificate - 03 September 2007 |
You can register for your “Neso Certificate” at any time throughout the year. General speaking the average processing time per application is 3-4 weeks, but in special cases it may take maximum two months. You must allow for an additional two months to complete the visa application procedure, therefore we strongly recommend you to register for the “Neso Certificate” at least four months prior to your intended departure for the Netherlands. Thus, if you are due to start your studies at September 1, you are recommended to register for your “Neso Certificate” before May 1 of the same year. In case you do not yet have an IELTS TRF, you must also allow for enough time to take the IELTS test and receive the TRF prior to registration to Neso China.
Your application to a Dutch university or school
Registration for a Neso Certificate does not replace the regular application procedures for a Dutch Higher Education Institute.
To apply for any international study programme in the Netherlands, you need to follow the regular application procedures and comply with the criteria as specified by the Dutch institution. Every institution has its own admission procedures and deadlines; you are advised to pay close attention to the specific procedures of the institution you seek admission to.
In many cases, it means you will apply for admission to the programme and register for the “Neso Certificate” separately but simultaneously.
Neso China provides information about Dutch higher education and study opportunities in the Netherlands free of charge, but it does not provide study abroad recruitment services to Chinese students who wish to study in the Netherlands. You can contact Dutch schools directly for recruitment details or ask a recruiting agency to help you for this issue.
