past one's planned stay in Belize. U.S. citizens do not need visas for
tourist visits of up to thirty days, although onward or return air tickets
and proof of sufficient funds are required. Visitors for other purposes must

The American Embassy in Nicosia has about a hundred American
employees and one hundred Cypriot employees dedicated to promoting U.S.
interests in Cyprus and in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Embassy
activities range from the traditional, such as issuing visas and assisting
American citizens residing in and visiting Cyprus, to new tasks taken on in
reaction to today's emerging challenges. These include working with local
law
enforcement operations to counter narcotics trade, to protect intellectual

The American Citizen Services Section assists people with
passport renewals, registration of Americans living in Panama, birth reports
for children of American citizens born in Panama, voter registration, income
tax forms, notarial services, and emergency services to American citizens.
Consular officers and staff provide emergency assistance in the event of
arrest, destitution, illness or death of an American citizen, and accept
trust funds on behalf of Americans in Panama. Consular officers also pass
emergency messages to Americans traveling abroad, and make inquiries on the
welfare and whereabouts of Americans in Panama when requested by concerned

The Consular Section is responsible for providing a variety
of services to American citizens in Singapore, and for issuing immigrant and
non-immigrant visas to non-U.S. citizens. Our public hours for American
Citizens are 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Embassy no
longer accepts walk-in applications or inquiries for non-immigrant visas.
All applications for non-immigrant visas MUST be made through a travel
agent or by local mail. The public hours for immigrant visa matters and
other services (other than non-immigrant visas) are 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
You can inquire by telephone on non-immigrant visa matters between 3:30 p.m.
and 4:30 p.m. or call the 24 hour Consular information line at 476-9100
(press "3" at the prompt). We are open Monday through Friday, but closed for
both U.S. and local holidays. Please note that the Embassy does not accept
checks or credit cards for consular fees.

itself. The Embassy does not recommend any person outside the Consulate for
providing services such as translation, preparation of applications or the

the issuance of a visa or passport. If you require a medical examination as
part of your visa application, a list of designated panel physicians will be
provided to you by the Embassy. Please arrange your appointment with the
doctor directly and pay only after you have received the agreed upon
services. Please request a receipt from the doctor at the time the services
are provided. Do not allow parties claiming that they are agents of the
Embassy to set up a medical appointment for you, transport you to the
doctor’s office or pay the required fees. The Embassy is not responsible for
money paid to people or businesses falsely claiming that they can provide
services connected to the issuance of U.S. passports or visas. If any such
persons approach you and offer you services related to the issuance of
American visas, passports, or other documents please notify the Consul in
writing about the incident. The letter should include information that would
be helpful in stopping other applicants from being harassed, including the
time and date, details of the incident, i.e., what was offered to you, how
was it done, and whether you were asked for money, as well as your name,
address and contact information. Any sources of such information will be
kept confidential.

Please callthe Consular Section if your travel plans change, you move, or
you depart Moldova earlier than expected. We have developed a Warden System
for American Citizens in Moldova so that we will be prepared in the event of
an emergency. When you register with us, we will assign you to a warden who
is an American Citizen living or working in your area. Should we need to
disseminate urgent information to our citizens in Moldova, it will be done
through this system. If someone in the United States contacts the Embassy
and inquires about your welfare and/or whereabouts, we will take a detailed
message and contact you ourselves, either in writing or by telephone. We
will not give out information about you until we have contacted you and
received your consent to do so. Should you be arrested or detained by the
local authorities, you have the right to contact the Embassy and speak with
the Consular Officer, who will help you to the extent permitted by law and
international agreements. As a visitor to Moldova, you are subject to the

handle American clients. If your passport is lost or stolen, please report
it to the police, and then bring the police report to the Embassy. We will
issue you a replacement passport. If your passport will expire while you are
in Moldova, please contact the Embassy and we can issue you a new passport.

full of visas and other immigration stamps, we can affix additional visa
pages in your passport. The Embassy performs notarial services for American
citizens on certain types of documents. We also provide certain types of

The Consular Section of the Lagos Embassy has responsibility
for providing services to American Citizens as well as adjudicating
immigrant and non-immigrant visas. The American Citizens Services (ACS)
includes passport services special citizenship services - such as

A valid passport is required for entry into Slovenia. A visa
is not required for a tourist/business stay up to 90 days. U.S. citizens are
encouraged to register at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in
Ljubljana and obtain updated information on travel and security within
Slovenia. Consular sections issue passports to Americans overseas and
Reports of Birth for U.S.-citizen children under the age of 18. They advise
about the acquisition and loss of nationality. When necessary to verify a
document's legal validity in the United States, consular officers may
perform notarial services. Consuls maintain information on Federal and State
primary and general elections, as well as voting registration materials.
Among other non-emergency services, consular staff can provide information
on travel conditions in foreign countries and may be of limited assistance
to those receiving federal benefits. Consular officers and staff provide

death of an American citizen. They also pass emergency messages to Americans
