Fashion Draping Classes: Available to students from beginner to advanced levels, our classes are offered at evenings and weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of our students. • Beginning Draping I Course Duration: 10 hours - 4 sessions, 2.5 hours each. Prerequisites: Introduction to Sewing, Intermediate Sewing, Advanced Sewing
Using dress forms/mannequins, you learn to construct garments through draping. This class focuses on creating a basic dress, to teach you the ins-and-outs of proper draping to use for future garment construction.
• Beginning Draping II Course Duration: 10 hours - 4 sessions, 2.5 hours each. Prerequisites: Introduction to Sewing, Intermediate Sewing, Advanced Sewing, Beginning Draping I
Building on skills learned in Beginning Draping 1, you learn to drape a perfectly fitting pant on a pant form/mannequin.
• Intermediate Draping Course Duration: 20 hours - 8 sessions, 2.5 hours each. Prerequisites: Introduction to Sewing, Intermediate Sewing, Advanced Sewing, Beginning Draping I, Beginning Draping II
At this point, you should have developed a good understanding of draping, but your experienced and qualified instructor is present to give guidance along the way.
Building on the skills learned in Beginning Draping 1 and 2, you drape a sleeveless dress of your own design. Dress should be lined and finely finished.
• Advanced Draping Course Duration: 25 hours. Prerequisites: Introduction to Sewing, Intermediate Sewing, Advanced Sewing, Beginning Draping I, Beginning Draping II, Intermediate Draping
Building on lessons learned in Beginning Draping 1 and 2 through Intermediate Draping, students create two outfits to fit a dress form.
