Study English in the evening or at weekends in the heart of the U.S. capital, Washington DC. International Language Institute (ILI) is a dedicated English language school which offers a wide variety of English language programs, including part-time evening and weekend courses.

Since 1970, the International Language Institute has taught English to thousands of students from all parts of the world. ILI has become known for its excellent teachers and friendly atmosphere. We also have an ESL school in Gaithersburg, Maryland, just 15 miles north-west of DC. 

Semi-Intensive (Evenings or Saturdays) English as a Second Language Program:
- 6 levels, beginner to advanced plus optional TOEFL test preparation

Each level in the evening is 12 weeks (24 weeks for TOEFL) and 20 weeks in the Saturday program (40 weeks for TOEFL).

The complete TOEFL preparation course is two sessions, but students may not need all 24 (evening) or 40 (Saturday) weeks.

Students work at gaining English proficiency so that they can reach their own academic, professional, or personal goals. All levels include:

• Grammar
• Reading/Writing
• Listening/Speaking/Pronunciation
• Conversation and Speaking Activities
• Vocabulary Work

Course Hours:
Semi-Intensive English evening classes in Washington, D.C. meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:40 - 8:45 pm. Semi-intensive English Saturday classes in Washington, D.C. meet from 9 am - 1:05 pm.

Certificates:
All students who complete their program are awarded a Certificate of Attendance at the end of their studies. All students are continuously evaluated.

In order to qualify to receive a certificate from ILI, a student must maintain attendance of at least 70%.
