Additionally, we provide a Culinary Arts internship program for students who would like to be actively immersed in the world of Spanish cooking and gastronomy at a professional level. Internships are available all year round and you can choose to stay for 4, 8 or 12 weeks.

Internship students are obliged to initially take a minimum of 2 weeks of Spanish course (40 hours) irrespective of your level of Spanish. If you are already bilingual in Spanish, you will take a cultural course focused in Spain and cooking traditions. The Culinary Arts internships are professional hands-on cooking courses in a restaurant, hotel or tourist resort.

Culinary Arts - Spanish Cuisine Internship:

Participating in our Culinary Arts internship program provides an invaluable opportunity to upgrade your resume and find better employment opportunities upon return to your home country.
Depending on your interests, there's a wide range of internship arrangements, from local restaurants to hotels. In this cookery program, you experience the world of real Spanish cuisine and its environment.
Participants learn to speak and understand the Spanish language, and have the opportunity to network with their peers as well as obtain personal enhancement in the field of gastronomy / culinary arts.
Culinary internships take place in locations all over Spain, including Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Granada among others.

Course Content:
- Learning Spanish language and culture:
Learn to speak Spanish in group lessons that are designed to make you feel comfortable and secure with the language in a professional cooking environment.
It is always obligatory to take 2 weeks of Spanish classes (at least 40 hours), irrespective of your level of Spanish. If you are already bilingual, you take a cultural course focused on Spain and Spanish cooking traditions.
The school evaluates your level of knowledge through an on-line test that you send along with your enrollment application. You are informed of the results of your test before your departure, and when you arrive, you have an oral exam which gives us a guide as to how many Spanish lessons you might need.
- Professional hands-on cooking courses:
You take professional hands-on cooking courses (40 hours) towards an culinary internship in a restaurant. The cooking courses are given along with or after the language lessons and are taught in English by professional experienced top chefs.
These courses prepare you to be fully immersed in a real professional cooking environment by teaching you hands-on techniques in how to prepare numerous and authentic soups, meat, fish and rice dishes, sauces, vegetables and desserts.
- Culinary Internship:
Your internship is 30 hours per week. During the internship, you train in the city or the surrounding area at the most appropriate culinary institution for your personal skills.
This is where you learn all the tricks of the trade. Students participating in internships do receive monetary compensation (€200 euros / approx US$260 monthly)
- Accommodation:
Students live in a shared apartment in a safe nice area living like other Spaniards. Apartments have wireless internet and many other facilities.
- Supervision:
In all cases, students have supervision while taking Spanish and cooking courses and during the internship. At the end of the program, you will receive a Certificate and reference letter.
