Rochester Independent College, Kent:
Situated in the County of Kent, only 35 minutes south-east of London, Rochester Independent College (RIC) has been helping to prepare our students for entry to medical, dental and vet school since 1984. We also offer intensive one year A level courses in Science and Maths that have been successfully taken by high-flying international and mature students preparing for these university options. Accredited by the ISC (Independent Schools Council), RIC aims to offer a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form college, and provides boarding and day programmes for British students and international students aged 16 or older.

Medical, Dental and Veterinary Science Programmes:
The most important A level subjects for potential medical professionals are Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, which are all subjects that RIC has an established track record in. Options chosen in the A levels at RIC are often geared towards medical school entry, for example the Sociology of Health and Medical Physics.

We guide our students through every aspect of their UCAS application, and provide guidance for anyone who needs to take additional entrance tests such as the UKCAT. There are additional challenges for international students in preparing their applications, so it is particularly important that their applications are targeted strategically. RIC students have an outstanding track record of securing places on medically-related courses such as Audiology, Pharmacy, Radiography and Optometry. 

Many former students of RIC are now successful practitioners working locally. In addition, many of the local GPs, surgeons and consultants send their children to us, and also help with the mock interviews we organise for all our applicants aiming for medical, dental of veterinary science courses.

These factors gives RIC a real wealth of experience to draw upon when advising students about who to approach when organising their work experience.
