Paris American Academy:
Paris American Academy (PAA) is an accredited private institution of higher learning offering bachelor degree, semester abroad and summer programs in Fashion, Fine Arts and Interior Design to students from around the world searching for quality career education in these fields. Established in 1965 by Richard Roy, PAA is located less than a kilometer from Notre-Dame Cathedral in the famous Latin Quarter of Paris, France. All of our programs are taught in English. During their studies, students can benefit from a French language course integrated into their program.
The Paris American Academy is registered by the Académie de Paris, as a private institution of higher learning under the 12 July 1875 jurisdiction.
The Paris American Academy has formed a unique teaching staff comprised of academics, skilled professionals, and invited guest artists, thus providing students with a solid practical approach to professional requirements.

3-year Bachelor Degree Courses:

The Paris American Academy admits freshmen with a baccalaureate high school diploma or equivalent for the first year of study. Experienced students may apply for second year entrance provided they have at least one year’s training in the corresponding discipline and are able to provide a portfolio and recommendations in accordance.
4-month Fall & Spring Semester Abroad Programs:

University credits can be earned for transfer to colleges and universities on both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Intensive English Language Course (4-weeks):
The English Language Institute at Paris American Academy (ELI PAA) offers a 4-week English course to international students and native French students at elementary English to advanced English levels.
The objective of the course is to help students to improve their English and to prepare them for further studies at Paris American Academy, English-speaking business schools, colleges or universities in Paris, France and throughout Europe.
When you successfully complete the 4-week English course, you will receive a Certificate in English Language indicating the highest level you achieved. All textbooks and materials are provided.
All of our degree programs, semester abroad programs and workshops are taught in English, as we receive students from all over the world.
During their studies, students can benefit from French language course integrated into their programs. We are proud of the bilingual tradition of our school which almost every year groups together more then 20 different nationalities.
Our goal is to prepare students academically, personally and professionally for successful careers.
The programs, policies and teaching methods have been designed to implement this philosophy and are evaluated periodically and changed as necessary, to meet the needs of our students and the ever-changing professional sector.
- The average number of students in any given class is usually below twelve, so the teacher / student ration helps us all to develop a creative interactive dialogue.
- Our students enjoy personalized instruction from the industry professional professors that instruct the courses. This allows for a flexibility of instruction, impossible at large institutions.
- PAA students come from many different countries and backgrounds and bring a wide range of viewpoints, special interest and talent to enrich the learning community.
- During the past forty years, students and professions from 35 nationalities have participated in either the intensive short-term seminars or attended a longer four month Spring term or a three year curriculum.
- PAA structures its degree programs and course content to be practical and applicable in today’s real world. Emphasis is on the development of skills and accrual of knowledge that will be key in the pursuit of your desired professional field. The strongly vocational approach prepares students for careers in Fashion, Fine Arts and Interior Design.
- The Academy welcomes participants regardless of age, race, nationality, religion or political persuasion.
Centered less than a kilometer from Notre-Dame cathedral in the famous Latin quarter, the Academy draws upon Paris' cultural and artistic heritage in making the city it's campus.
Classes are mainly held in the Pavillon du Val de Grâce, a 17th century, historically classified building. Recently renovated, this six level edifice also serves as the Academy Art Gallery. Other studio space and administration offices are located in adjacent buildings.
We work closely with a shuttle service and can arrange a pick up for you from the Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport to the school when you arrive in Paris.
