Gastronomicom International French Culinary Academy:

Gastronomicom is a leading culinary arts institute that offers certificate and diploma programs (taught in English) in French Cooking and French Pastry that are combined with intensive French language lessons.

Intensive French Language Lessons:
Photo of French Language, Wine & Cooking School near Montpellier, France3 hours of French lessons per day are included in all of our 3-month Gastronomic programs. You will learn or improve your French language with our intensive French lessons and at the same time you will learn a lot about French cooking or French wines or French food and beverage.

The objective of our intensive French lessons is to get you to be able to speak French as a professional language (kitchen, food & beverage, hospitality etc.) as well as a general language for the daily using (transports, shopping, tourism etc.).

We also intend to introduce France to you and to impart to you something about French culture, French civilisation and French “way of life”. 

The program depends on the average level of the different groups after evaluation (initiation, improvement, conversation) and their specialisation and can be conducted in English (for beginners) or in French. 

All programs include specific vocabulary, dialogs and typical expressions according to your specialisation as well as general vocabulary, texts and debates and also information about professional reality and daily life in France.

French Cooking Courses:

• Gourmet Program:
Length of the program: 4 weeks with 30 hours of lessons per week - 15 hours of French Cooking classes and 15 hours of Pastry classes. All of your weekends are free, giving you the chance to experience the local lifestyle and culture.

Cooking classes cover: Cold Starters, Hot Starters, Fish with their sauces, and Meats with their sauces. Students work in teams to help each other and learn together.

 Gastronomic Program:
Length of the program: 8 weeks or 12 weeks with 30 hours of lessons per week, including 15 hours of intensive French lessons and 15 hours of hands-on cookery classes.

All weekends are free and you have 1 week off to visit France. The program is comprised of 3 modules of 4 weeks with the same organisation as the Gourmet Program Module. Students work in teams to help each other and learn together.

• Full Program with Internship:
Length of the program: 12 weeks with 30 hours of lessons per week, including 15 hours of intensive French lessons + 15 hours of hands-on cookery classes + 4 months Internship in a Luxury Hotel-restaurant in France. All week-ends are free (except during the internship) and you have 1 week off to travel around France.

• One-Year Diploma Program:

 Two-Year Diploma in Gastronomic Food & Beverage Management:
For this diploma course, you have the choice of two options: a) Cooking & Pastry or b) Restaurant Management & Wines.

French & Pastry Courses:

• Gourmet Program:
Length of the program : 4 weeks with 30 hours of lessons per week - 15 hours of French Pastry classes and 15 hours of cooking classes. All of your weekends are free, giving you the chance to experience the local lifestyle and culture.

Cooking classes cover: Breads, viennoiseries & doughs, Cakes & entremets, Chocolates, Plate desserts & decoration. Students work in teams to help each other and learn together. 

• Gastronomic Program:
Length of the program: 8 weeks or 12 weeks with 30 hours of lessons per week, including 15 hours of intensive French lessons and 15 hours of hands-on pastry classes.

All weekends are free and you have 1 week off to visit France. The Program includes 3 modules of 4 weeks with the same organisation asthe Gourmet Program Module.

• Full Program:

For this diploma course, you have the choice of two options: 1) Cooking & Pastry 2) Service& Sommelier.

Visa Information for non-EU Students

For the 1-month or 3-month programs, you need a Tourist Visa
For the 3-months program + internship and longer programs, you need a Student Visa

Internship Stipend
Gastronomicom students receive a stipend of 524 Euro per month (fixed regular sum paid) once the internship period of their training begins.
