First established in 1992 as an English language school in Dublin, Ireland, the Irish College of English is recognised by the Department of Education as having year round English schools for the teaching of English as a foreign language. We pride ourselves on being small schools where individual needs can be met. We have two branches - the Malahide School and the Swords School. Both of our schools are within easy reach of Dublin City Centre and both are only 10 minutes from Dublin International Airport, making them ideal locations to study English.

Dublin is one of Europe's most exciting capital cities. It is up-beat and vibrant and has a young population. This makes for a very lively social scene. Dublin is well known for its wealth of culture and music. There is a lively pub or club on every corner where you can enjoy a pint of Guinness and listen to some traditional music. Even though Dublin is a capital city, unlike others it feels small and safe, its easy to get around and very quickly you will feel at home.

The city is home to the famous Trinity College, National Museums, National Gallery and Temple Bar for some fun. Shoppers will really enjoy the retail experience in Dublin. The sea, the mountains and the countryside are all within an hour's drive of the city centre and are accessible by public transport. Dublin's theatres are famous world-wide and the National Concert Hall caters for all music tastes. Sports, such as golf, tennis, and horse-riding are all available, easily accessible and close to the city.

Ireland has seen rapid growth over the past 20 years and offers first rate facilities/services. Despite this change it hasn't lost its own special identity, culture or its sense of traditional values. Ireland still has a village feel which makes it an easy destination where the people are friendly and helpful to foreign language students and juniors.

The refreshing beauty of the naturally green landscape is another reason to choose to study English in Ireland. Ireland's unspoilt countryside, long sandy beaches, spectacular coastline, lakes, hills and picturesque villages make it an unmissable destination.
