Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School, Florence:
Alchimia is a private professional contemporary jewellery school in the historic city of Florence in Tuscany, Northern Italy. We provide academic jewellery design courses at Bachelor's (BFA) degree, Masters (MFA) degree levels, as well as 1-year courses, intensive programs including Weekend Courses, 2 weeks to 6 months courses, and summer study options.

Accredited Bachelor & Masters Degrees:
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree courses are accredited by the European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools (E.A.B.H.E.S.), an organisation that allows all of our students to obtain a European Bachelor’s degree. This accreditation validates the quality of the educational content of the courses offered by Alchimia.

Jewellery Degree Programs:
• Bachelor Of Fine Arts Degree in Contemporary Jewellery (2 Years)
• Master Of Fine Arts Degree: Major in Jewellery and Cultural Identity (2 Years)

1-Year Jewellery Design Courses:
• Jewellery Training Foundation (JTF)
• Advanced Jewellery Training (AJT)

The intensive courses last from 2 weeks to 6 months, and are designed for those who have limited time to study. 

Addressing the individual needs of each student and taught on a one-to-one basis, intensive programmes offer the ideal opportunity to concentrate on a specific subject of interest, be it technical or conceptual.

The maximum number of participants is 8. All necessary tools and materials are included in the course fee, excluding gold and precious stones.

The courses are available throughout the year, beginning on Mondays.

With a maximum of 12 students per class of the core 3-year program, interaction and communication among the student body and our skilled teaching staff has helped establish Alchimia as one of the premier contemporary jewellery schools in the world, as made evident by the numerous international prizes, exhibitions and collections our students partake in each year.


Convenient Location in Florence:
Our jewellery school is located near Palazzo Pitti and Piazza del Carmine, 15 walking minutes from the Central Station and the famous Florence Dome in the heart of the "Oltrarno", since the Middle Ages the "district" of the handicraft workshops of the city.

The neighbourhoods are quiet and safe, full of small restaurants and artist studios in the narrow streets and romantic "piazzas".

Alchimia’s staff of 10 teachers and technicians are all professional artists, designers, historians, or jewellers employed on a part-time basis so that they may continue to pursue the highest standards of achievement within their respective fields.

Each year the school also hosts numerous lectures, seminars, and workshops led by internationally recognized artists, designers, gallery owners, art historians and critics.

The school organizes exhibitions and participates in international events and fairs presenting the student’s work in order to give them contacts and knowledge about the various possibilities for their future profession.
