Anesthesiology

Overview   We are seeking two full‑time General Anesthesiologists to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. These vacancies have arisen due to planned increases in elective surgical volumes and staffing changes.
Responsibilities     Anesthesiologists are expected to anesthetise pediatric patients aged 4 years and over for elective slates, occasional 2‑4 year olds for occasional emergencies and rarely, airway assistance with neonatal intubations.
Run 7‑8 operating rooms for urgent and elective surgery on weekdays; 5 ORs until 1500 hrs, 1 OR until 1700 hrs and emergency surgery after hours.
Run 1‑2 out‑of‑OR positions each day for consults, acute pain service, ECT, cardioversions and emergency calls.
Provide anesthesia services 2‑3 days per week to a secondary OR in the Cancer Agency for brachytherapy (prostate and cervix).
Qualifications   All qualified candidates including international medical graduates are encouraged to apply.
Location   Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Centre is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley approximately 60 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
