The Team

Our team, the Office of the Chief Veterinarian – Dairy Program, is a small, collaborative group committed to supporting safe and sustainable dairy production across BC. We value diversity and inclusion, bringing together expertise in areas like animal welfare, livestock management, and regulatory compliance to serve producers and protect public health. The role combines technical knowledge with strong communication and problem‑solving skills, and we value diverse perspectives and approaches to help build trust and positive relationships with producers while ensuring safe, high‑quality milk for communities.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in agriculture sciences, or equivalent, with experience in the dairy industry with an emphasis on farm‑level production, OR diploma in Law or equivalent, with operational experience in a regulatory compliance program.
  • Operational experience in mediating solutions, regulatory enforcement or auditing, with preference given to either the Milk Industry Act, the National Dairy Code, or the Dairy Farmer’s of Canada Pro Action.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license.
  • Meet the safety standards of Work Safe BC.
  • Conduct fieldwork, which includes travel to remote areas across the province by vehicle, overnight or extended stay, and working in all weather conditions.
