Infusion Nurse (RN)

Job Type: Part time / Casual (flexible schedule)

The Infusion Nurse (RN), under the direction of the Specialty Pharmaceutical Nurse Supervisor and/or Manager, administers and oversees specialized infusion, injectable, or oral pharmacological treatments either in the home or in a Bayshore infusion clinic to patients with diseases and medical conditions in therapeutic areas such as oncology, neurology, rheumatology, and rare diseases.

The Bayshore Specialty Rx team provides personalized patient care, ensuring patients receive treatment from the same nurse for continuity. Bayshore collaborates with staff to create flexible schedules and offers opportunities for professional development, including specialized training, conference attendance, and participation in clinical trials.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments, including peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.), and provide medical interventions as needed.
  • Accurately document procedures and submit reports promptly.
  • Develop and review individualized nursing care plans.
  • Conduct patient health assessments and provide medication administration teaching.
  • Provide patient care according to care plans or medical directives, utilizing skills in observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and adverse event reporting.
Candidate Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing degree.
  • Valid Ontario Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • 1-2 years of experience in acute care or with specialty pharmaceuticals, including peripheral IV and central line skills.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required for clinic roles.
  • Experience in home care, infusion clinics, or oncology nursing is preferred.
