Fraser Health Authority is recruiting a Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Care Unit. The role focuses on specialty nursing transition, providing direct patient care, interprofessional collaboration, and professional development.
Salary
Hourly rate ranges from CAD $41.42 to $59.52. Competitive benefits include vacation, comprehensive health coverage, and a pension plan.
Job Summary
Under the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards, the RN provides direct patient care, collaborates with families and the interprofessional team, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. The position offers an opportunity to rotate through specialty units and complete post‑graduate specialty courses.
- Assess patients, gather information from multiple sources, and determine appropriate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop care plans and encourage participation in care decision‑making.
- Participate in admission care planning, discharge planning, and interprofessional collaboration to ensure comprehensive care.
- Coordinate nursing care, delegate tasks to supportive staff, and refer to the interprofessional team as needed.
- Educate patients and families on illness prevention, health restoration, and self‑care.
- Document assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes according to Fraser Health procedures.
- Engage in research, quality improvement activities, and continuous education to maintain clinical competence.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current registration as a Registered Nurse (BCCNM).
- Completion or willingness to complete the applicable post‑graduate specialty nursing course/program.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrated ability in patient assessment, critical thinking, effective communication, and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in using clinical evidence and technology to support nursing decisions.
- Physical ability to perform nursing duties and use relevant equipment.
