We are aviation maintenance experts, performing repair, maintenance, and overhaul on our fleet. Additionally, we provide air tankers, crew, and maintenance on contract during fire seasons to government agencies including Canada, the US, Australia, and France. We currently have an opening for a full-time, permanent AME-M position within the Operations team.
Reporting to Lead Hands, Base Engineers, and/or department supervisors, an AME will work under supervision with detailed instructions to maintain our fleet aircraft. This position involves working in our hangars in Abbotsford as well as deployments to support our operational aerial firefighting fleet in the field.
In this role, your duties will include:
- Assisting with the maintenance of Conair fleet aircraft and supporting production projects as assigned;
- Completing all maintenance and paperwork on base aircraft during the operating season;
- Fostering strong working relationships with customers, pilots, and crew;
- Adhering to Conair safety regulations, policies, and procedures while performing duties;
- Completing assigned tasks and related documentation accurately and promptly;
- Supervising work crews as Lead Hand, based on training and expertise;
- Working within a team environment, assisting and/or directing fellow employees professionally and courteously;
- Maintaining currency with Conair aeronautical studies, maintenance bulletins, and notices;
- Applying knowledge of CAR regulations related to aircraft maintenance;
- Understanding the flow and processes involved in information technology systems.
We are looking for someone with:
- Knowledge of government laws, safety rules, regulations, and safe practices;
- Knowledge of aircraft parts and the theory of aircraft structures;
- Ability to learn quickly and respond effectively to verbal instructions;
- Proficiency with mechanical tools and equipment;
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks related to aircraft repair, overhaul, and maintenance;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Professionalism, especially when facing opposition;
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Training/Education:
- Q400 type training and experience is an asset;
- Twin Commander type (specifically TC 690A/B model) training and experience is an asset;
- Honeywell TPE
331-5 and
-10 line and heavy maintenance experience is an asset; - Holder of Transport Canada Licenses M1 or M2;
- Operational/Line Maintenance experience is an asset.
