Advanced Clinical Fellow in Endoscopy

This post is for a training fellowship of up to 1 year in advanced endoscopy, suitable for individuals in the latter stages of their Specialist Registrar training in Gastroenterology. The applicant will join a large academic department of Gastroenterology based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the University of Aberdeen, with specialist clinics for IBD and all aspects of liver disease.

• Service commitment expected in the form of 4‑5 endoscopy lists per week (no ward or on‑call commitment)
• 7‑day endoscopy service; may be required to undertake some service lists at the weekend
• Participation in MDT meetings and clinical administration
• Participation in research/audit projects under the supervision of a consultant
• Participation in teaching within the endoscopy service
• Potential incorporation of an endoscopy‑related clinic into the job plan

• Advanced endoscopy training for 3 lists per week, matched to applicant needs
• Training in ERCP (including Spyglass and biliary manometry) and Endoscopic Ultrasound (including pseudocyst drainage)
• At least a year of grade I ERCP training necessary; previous experience in EUS advantageous but not required

Overall supervision will be provided by the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy.
