GENERAL SUMMARY
As a workshop technician your prime responsibility will be dismantle/inspection/rebuild of mechanical rotating equipment. It is expected that your key drivers and focus will be on client satisfaction and the performance of key internal stakeholders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Dismantle, inspect, and re-build a range of mechanical rotating equipment types, mainly pumps
- Inspect components and sub-assemblies using engineering inspection techniques & tooling
- Entering inspection sizing data into strip and build reports
Skills and Abilities
- You ideally have previous experience within a fitter technician role in heavy industry/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to measure and record dimensional data using inspection tools (vernier calipers, micrometers etc.)
- You’re driven, with a “can do” attitude
- You have excellent communication skills and can demonstrate great internal relationships – inside of the organisation
- Have sound knowledge of variety of machinery.
- Proficient on reading engineering drawings and specifications.
- You are Culturally aware; understanding and recognizing that we all work in different ways
- You are prepared to constructively challenge performance and critically assess all aspects of the business, providing suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English
- Time served mechanical apprenticeship is essential.
- SVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field is desirable.
