Job DescriptionAs a Senior ROV Pilot Technician, you will be a key member of the offshore ROV team, responsible for piloting, maintaining, and troubleshooting remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems in support of subsea operations. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality ROV operations.
Responsibilities- Execute advanced ROV piloting operations for subsea tasks including construction, survey, inspection, intervention, and tooling deployment.
- Lead ROV launch and recovery, coordinating deck crew, and oversight of LARS & TMS systems.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in ROV systems (electrical, electronic, fibre‑optic, hydraulic, mechanical).
- Perform planned and corrective maintenance on ROV systems and subsystems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and the company’s MMS.
- Monitor ROV telemetry, sonar, video, sensor data and vehicle diagnostics during live operations.
- Operate and maintain manipulator systems for valve operations, tool deployment, cutting and recovery.
- Assist ROV Supervisor in shift briefings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and task planning; act as operational lead when required.
- Minimum 360 days offshore as ROV Pilot Technician Grade I, with at least 100 logged pilot hours on IMCA ROV Logbook.
- Experience with observation or work‑class ROVs, consoles, sonar, manipulator arms and subsea tooling.
- Valid IMCA Company Member Competence Certificate or completed IMCA Competence Portfolio.
- Technical qualification in electrical, electronic, mechanical or hydraulic discipline (NVQ Level 3, HNC, equivalent).
- Completion of IMCA‑approved ROV Introductory Training (IMCA R002).
- Demonstrated competence in advanced fault finding, manipulator use and equipment maintenance.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work rotational offshore shifts.
- OPITO BOSIET with CA‑EBS, MIST (UKCS), and OEUK Medical (Bi‑Deltoid shoulder measurements).
