Senior Planner

ob Purpose

Deliver all planning activities within a contract or project. Advise Project/Contract Manager and key contract stakeholders on the plan performance of the contract through plans, forecasts, histograms, analysis, control measures, S-curves, and reporting. Prepare and issue plans and deliverables on time and to expected quality standards, including trending and schedule risk analysis with narrative. Establish and develop good working relationships with client project controls counterparts and demonstrate high levels of professional conduct and discipline.

• Attend all planning meetings within the contract.
• Develop WBS, baselines, schedules, and the regular monitoring of plans.
• Identify and report planning risk and support the management of change, growth, and variation.
• Produce regular planning reports with accompanying narrative, in line with business and client requirements, which may include histograms, s-curves, and planner boards.
• Analysis of schedule attainment, SPI/CPI, resource levels, critical paths, float, and other metrics, as required.
• Provide cover for Planners, as required.
• Provide support/training to other members of the planning, and project teams.
• Compliance with planning procedures and templates and support periodic audit work to ensure consistency of application use.
• Maintain and follow specific work instructions.
• Be fully conversant with nexos systems including P6 and the Slingshot digital eco-system.
• Daily interface with project team and project controls team to ensure accurate reporting and trustworthy data sets.

• Essential:
• 5 years+ previous experience in a Planning role.
• Experience of “cradle to grave” project life cycles.
• Strong working knowledge of project controls theory and practices.
• Demonstrable Primavera P6 knowledge and experience (Enterprise Client)
• Excellent Excel skills
• Desirable:
• HNC or higher qualifications preferred
