Location: Aberdeen City
This is a hands-on accounting position supporting month-end close processes, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role includes preparing forecasts, maintaining fixed asset records, managing intercompany accounts, and producing a range of financial reports to support decision-making. It also involves assisting with cash flow monitoring, ad hoc invoicing, and general accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Duties and Responsibilities- Preparing and supporting monthly management accounts, including forecasts, budgets and associated financial reporting.
- Compiling and providing balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
- Producing regular cash flow forecasts and submit required information in line with reporting timetables.
- Supporting month-end activities including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations and currency revaluations.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and perform associated reconciliations.
- Producing and following up on management information such as customer analysis, margin reporting and departmental cost analysis.
- Maintaining intercompany accounts, including reconciliations, reporting and settlement activities.
- Completing accounting returns and periodic reporting requirements.
- Reviewing and closing financial work orders and support ad hoc invoicing, including internal recharges.
- Processing miscellaneous cash postings and support compliance-related financial reporting.
- Qualified to HND level in Accounting, Financial Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance support role.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and experience using ERP systems.
- Highly accurate, well organised and able to manage multiple priorities to strict deadlines.
- Methodical problem-solver with strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- A broad and hands-on accounting role covering management accounting and month-end processes.
- Exposure to forecasting, reporting and balance sheet control activities.
- An opportunity to further develop accounting and ERP system expertise.
