, we have been exclusively appointed to recruit a Financial Controller for a leading specialist engineering services organisation.

The roleReporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will take full responsibility for the financial management of the organisation, ensuring the business continues to operate from a position of strength.
This is a hands‑on, highly visible role, leading a small team and working closely with senior leaders to drive both operational and commercial performance. You will engage directly with projects, attend site visits, and support tendering processes.
Key responsibilities- Day‑to‑day management of the small accounts department, ensuring accurate, efficient and safe work.
- Preparation and presentation of annual budget projections.
- Preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports across all departments, including income, expenditure and vessel‑level performance analysis.
- Assisting with client presentations, tenders and bid preparation.
- Maintaining guidelines and reporting systems.
- Supporting the preparation of financial information for external finance applications.
- Managing other duties as reasonably required to support the leadership team.
You will be degree‑educated with at least five years’ experience in a small business environment, ideally in a role that has required operational involvement and strategic oversight.
You will be highly numerate, detail‑oriented and able to communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential, as the position requires regular interaction with internal teams, external partners and financial institutions.
Experience working in a multi‑currency environment and confidence in managing cash flow would be advantageous.
