Kirby Group Engineering invites applications for the role of Project Manager – High Voltage (Power & Renewables) based in Aberdeenshire.

Kirby Group Engineering is an international multi‑disciplinary engineering services contractor leading in high‑value engineering services. Operating in Ireland, the UK and Europe, Kirby serves blue‑chip clients across pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission.

The Project Manager plans, organises, leads, coordinates and controls all activities related to the construction of electrical (MV & HV) projects.

• Arrange and chair handover of project from estimating department to construction team
• Liaise with OM in staffing of project
• Validate project and develop business plan, cost control system, cashflow and billable schedules
• Produce procurement plan, drawing / design plan, construction programme, s‑curve and histogram
• Liaise with client and design team on procurement and engineering issues
• Develop project safety and quality plans
• Mobilise sub‑contractors and labour in accordance with business plan
• Mobilise site establishment
• Continuous review of on site management competencies and develop a training plan
• Continuous auditing and reporting of EHS and QAQC procedures
• Deliver site specific EHS & QAQC TBT when required
• Manage site team in effective day‑to‑day running of site activities
• Ensure compliance with programme, material deliveries and engineering
• Attend meetings with clients and hold progress meetings with sub‑contractors
• Ensure effective cost and sales control in conjunction with QS
• Advise client of potential project risks
• Maintain productivity metrics and project progress control
• Escalate project issues to OM and implement the 30‑minute reporting rule
• Submit monthly internal reports to the OM
• Ensure testing and commissioning in accordance with Quality Plan
• Ensure final design audit (if applicable) is carried out by the EM
• Complete and certify all ‘life systems’ for handover
• Handover O&M manual and record drawings
• Prepare final account with QS, submit and agree with client
• Demobilise site team and establishment with OM
• Produce project close‑out report and submit to OM
• Archive project and maintain warranty contact
• Maintain a site / day book
• Attend monthly project managers meetings
• Develop skills in line with training plan
• Propose ideas for continuous improvement
• Maintain excellent working relationships with client throughout project life cycle

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or strong trades background
• Experience in Substations, High Voltage, Medium Voltage type projects
• Professional acumen – represent Kirby at senior level in meetings, presentations, technical workshops
• Strong IT skills – deliver presentations, reports
• Experience managing a multi‑disciplinary project team
• Willingness to travel between Glasgow and the greater London area
• Strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency
• Self‑initiative and ability to build and manage a team
• Positive, solution‑focused mindset
