Overview

Salary is pro rata'd. The HSG is an early intervention programme to support activity, which prevents people from becoming homeless, stabilises their housing situation, or helps potentially homeless people to find and keep accommodation. It supports vulnerable people to address the often multiple problems they face, such as debt, benefits, tenancy/housing management and health issues. Support is person‑centred, aimed at helping people to secure and maintain sustainable housing by addressing the issues they face and improving their health and well‑being.

The key part of the role is to provide support to Age Cymru Dyfed’s Housing Support Officers in Ceredigion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the HSG Dementia and Older People’s teams as required.
  • Telephone/reception duties including client referrals and communication of this to the appropriate team member.
  • Photocopying, scanning and disposal of confidential documents.
  • Maintaining Excel spreadsheets and other databases.
  • Recording client feedback.
  • Completing paper and online forms and documents (training will be provided).
  • Assisting other members of staff with administrative/clerical duties as required.
  • Printing and posting of appropriate documentation as required.
  • Occasional visits to clients across Ceredigion (own car essential) to collect documents and/or assist them to make phone calls/applications.
  • Undertake any further reasonable duties as requested by the Information and Advice team.
  • Adhere to ACD policies and procedures, as well as the staff handbook.
  • Participate in any training deemed necessary for the role.
Skills, Qualities and Experience
  • Essential: Educated to a good standard (However, experience instead of qualifications will also be taken into consideration)
  • Essential: Proficient in Microsoft office and other software/social media applications, especially Excel.
  • Essential: Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Essential: Experience of record keeping using a customer‑relationship‑management database.
  • Desirable: Understanding of issues facing older people, including those relating to housing.
  • Essential: Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Essential: Organised and methodical.
  • Essential: A flexible, can‑do attitude.
  • Essential: A self‑starting team player who takes pride in completing tasks to a high standard.
  • Desirable: Welsh speaker.
  • Essential: Able to maintain a good working relationship.
  • Essential: Own transport (travel may be required across Ceredigion).
