Construction Manager Theming – STRABAG
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager Theming for an expansion of an existing theme park in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities- Planning, coordination, and execution of specialized construction projects involving custom themes, ensuring on‑time delivery, within budget, and meeting quality and safety standards.
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules for the construction and installation of thematic elements.
- Monitor quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring alignment with intricate design specifications.
- Prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, track expenses, and handle change orders related to specialized theming work.
- Select, hire, and supervise specialized subcontractors and vendors such as sculptors, painters, and fabricators, coordinating their schedules and activities.
- Oversee day‑to‑day on‑site construction activities and enforce health and safety protocols.
- Act as the primary liaison between client, architects, engineers, designers, and contractors, providing regular progress reports and resolving issues.
- Respond efficiently to work delays, emergencies, or technical challenges.
- Proven experience in themed construction for theme parks, including immersive lands, ride show sets, adventure trails, and dark rides.
- Deep knowledge of scenic fabrication techniques such as GFRC/GRP/FRP, molded concrete, rockwork, faux finishes, textured coatings, sculpting, prop building, and media installations.
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings and creative sketches or 3D models (Maya, ZBrush, Sketch Up, Rhino preferred).
- Experience managing interfaces between theming and ride manufacturers, show control/AV/lightning, animatronics, waterproofing, mechanical and fire systems.
- Strong leadership, planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High aesthetic judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of themed construction experience, mandatorily including theme park projects.
- Experience working with international theme park brands (e.g., Disney, Universal, Warner Bros., Sea World, Legoland) is a strong advantage.
