We are seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist Gastroenterologist to diagnose, treat, and manage disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. The specialist will provide high-quality patient care, perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy and colonoscopy
- Manage liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), GERD, IBS, and GI bleeding
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as imaging, lab results, biopsies, and endoscopy findings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance
- Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists as required
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and ethical medical practices
- MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree
- Specialization in Gastroenterology from a recognized institution
- Minimum 2–5 years post-specialization experience (as per regulatory requirements)
- Strong skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Expertise in gastrointestinal diagnostics and procedures
- Ability to manage complex GI cases independently
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Hospital or specialized medical center
- Full-time role with on-call duties as per schedule
