Skills Hub Recruitment Solutions L.L.C is in search of a proactive and highly skilled Procurement Engineer to manage procurement operations for our residential renovation projects. This role requires a blend of civil engineering expertise, quantity surveying skills, and comprehensive procurement knowledge, all backed by a strong understanding of supply chain management.

Position Summary:
The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process for residential renovation projects, including sourcing materials, managing vendor relations, and handling supply chain logistics. This role demands a professional who combines technical knowledge in construction and quantity surveying with strong procurement capabilities to ensure the timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage procurement activities for residential renovation projects, including sourcing construction materials, fixtures, and finishes.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to assess procurement requirements and define specifications for each project phase.
  • Work alongside quantity surveyors to evaluate cost estimates and ensure procurement decisions align with project budgets.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships while negotiating favorable contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms for price, quality, and delivery.
  • Ensure that all materials and services required for renovation projects are delivered on time and meet the expected quality standards.
  • Manage the full supply chain process, including logistics, inventory, and coordination with suppliers to prevent delays and disruptions.
  • Issue tenders, evaluate bids, and select suppliers based on cost-efficiency, reliability, and quality.
  • Track and monitor the procurement budget, ensuring cost control while maintaining project scope and quality.
  • Oversee procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials in line with project timelines.
  • Address procurement challenges, such as material shortages or delays, and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports, ensuring transparency in all transactions.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on procurement status, budget performance, and any supply chain challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in procurement within residential renovation projects, focusing on materials, subcontractors, and supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and residential renovation processes.
  • Expertise in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and budget management for renovation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and logistics, with a focus on efficiency and cost control.
  • Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, resourcefulness, and the ability to handle multiple procurement tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with procurement software, project management tools, and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, quality standards, and sustainable construction materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIPS) are advantageous.
  • Experience working on luxury or high-end residential renovation projects.
  • Understanding of sustainable building materials and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Prior experience with supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies.
