Position: Quantity Surveyor (Estimation Engineer Lead)

JOB PURPOSE

Analyzes project plans and documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project scope and requirements.
  • Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting services.
  • Use cost databases, supplier quotations, and historical data to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Evaluate design alternatives and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
  • Prepare and update unit rates and maintain a cost library for recurring activities.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures as per tender documents.
  • Coordinate with procurement, subcontractors, and vendors for pricing of materials and services.
  • Participate in bid clarification meetings with clients or consultants.
  • Support the project team during execution with cost information and scope clarifications.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitor project cost performance vs. estimate.
  • Coordinate with planning and design departments to ensure alignment between drawings and estimates.
    • QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (for quantity take‑off).
  • Experienced in MS Excel (advanced functions for cost analysis).
  • Familiar with estimation software such as Candy, Cost X, or Primavera (optional but preferred).
  • Knowledge of UAE / GCC, especially Abu Dhabi Market (civil codes and market rates).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
