Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Geotechnical investigation.
- Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seismic;
- Geotechnical and site characterization;
- Review factual design reports, borehole logs and laboratory testing
- Preparation of geotechnical field investigation specifications and geotechnical interpretive reports
- Prepare foundation and pile design as well as ground improvement recommendations
- Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions
- Coordination and support with marine and structural team on projects
- Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects
- Design and engineering for a variety of areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management.
- Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
- Small project/task management and proposal preparation support;
- Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (required)
- Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (preferred)
- Professional engineer licensure (preferred)
- At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
- Familiarity with international geotechnical design standards including Eurocode and British Standards. (preferred)
- Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects. (preferred)
- Experience with engineering software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, SAP
2000, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE
21, and Plaxis. (2D/3D) (preferred)
