Responsibilities

• Study and review development specifications, and technical and certification requirements related to the System under Test.
• Study all technical literature and information related to the System under Test as deemed necessary for thorough test planning and hazard or risk identification.
• Support engineering activities related to the identification and definition of Flight Test Requirements, including Flight Test Instrumentation, and aircraft configurations for testing.
• Preparation of Flight Test Plans in accordance with ADASI Flight Test Operations Manual and standards.
• Preparation of Test Hazard Assessments in accordance with ADASI Flight Test Operations Manual and relevant guidelines.
• Managing flight tests within projects allocated to, in accordance with ADASI processes, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting and closure.
• Adherence to the flight test process ensuring it is maintained during the execution of duties, including the maintenance of Flight Test Dossiers in accordance with the ADASI Flight Test Operations Manual.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, aeronautical rules and local regulations governing the flight testing of specific aircraft operations and maintenance activities.
• Ensure that safety standards are maintained as per Company policy, the Safety Management System (SMS) and legislation requirements as applicable, within allocated area of responsibility.
• Comply with the Quality Management System i.a.w. the AS 9100D and ISO 9001 standards, as per Company Policy, and support activities related to Flight Test and associated engineering to ensure that the company retains its AS 9100D Accreditation Certificate.
• Reporting of non-compliances on both safety and quality issues within the allocated work to the responsible line management.
• Professional execution of other ad hoc tasks within current capabilities as delegated by management. This will however be mutually agreed as and when required.
• Compliance with proper document and configuration control of all Flight Operations records and documents.
• Assist the Head of Flight Test Engineering with planning and utilization of Flight Test Engineers and support personnel to ensure effective and efficient use of available resources.
• Identify relevant training requirement.

• Engineering Degree
• Flight Test Engineer Category II or higher

• At least 5 years of experience in aeronautical engineering or related engineering discipline and/or flight operations environment.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and experience in aviation safety assurance processes.
• Knowledge of aviation and UAS certification standards.
• Computer literacy in at least Word, Excel, Visio and Power point.
• Advanced literacy in Matlab.
• Above-average written and verbal communication (English).

• Formal training in flight testing of Unmanned Systems, or at least one year’s engineering or operating experience of Unmanned Air Systems, which may be concurrent with above mentioned engineering experience.
• Good leadership qualities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan and possess strong organizational skills.
• Team player and ability to collaborate within other engineering disciplines.
• Credibility within the flight test community.
• General radio licence.
• Class 2 medical certificate

• Review of safety assessments, flight test plans, test schedules, flight test reports and related documents associated with the flight test process, and as assigned by the Head of Flight Test.
