Position Summary
The role is based at KRE8+, an applied research and development center under HCT, specializing in smart sensor–integrated systems for industrial applications. The center supports industry partners by providing high‑tech practical solutions through applied research, along with specialist expertise, advanced equipment, and collaborative project execution.
Role OverviewThe objective of this position is to advance automation, smart machines, and sensor‑integrated systems for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background and hands‑on experience in developing intelligent automated systems for both industrial and research environments.
Strategic Responsibilities- Enhance the reputation of the KRE8+ Research Center as a leading applied research hub for industrial applications.
- Lead applied research and development activities in the fields of mechatronics and robotics.
- Conduct cutting‑edge research in mechatronics and robotics to support ongoing industrial projects.
- Drive innovation in the development of industrial applications.
- Provide practical implementation support for KRE8+ projects requiring sensor integration, including mechanical design, electronic design CAD and CAM, integration and testing.
- Advise and support faculty on best practices in mechatronics and robotics.
- Propose meaningful and relevant sophomore project topics for HCT students, specifically in robotics.
- Contribute to the development of academic course materials in mechatronics and robotics.
- Support the academic development of UAE Nationals in an effective and impactful manner.
Qualifications
- PhD (preferred) or Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechatronics or a related field from a recognized university.
- Advanced expertise in relevant modelling and simulation software.
- Demonstrated innovative mindset.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in developing smart systems and automation solutions.
- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, CAM, and simulation software.
- Practical experience with 3D printing, PLC programming, pneumatics, robotics, and mechanical systems.
- Full proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking);
Arabic language skills are an advantage. - Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in research and development.
- Experience collaborating with both industry and research organizations.
