Site Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing, Firefighting) | Abu Dhabi

BAC, a General Contractor in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Mechanical Engineer. This is a critical role for a technical expert responsible for the complete mechanical scope of a major project, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance from start to finish.

The successful candidate must demonstrate experience in the combined supervision and management of the following systems on a construction site: HVAC Systems & Chilled Water Networks, Plumbing and Firefighting Systems.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Building Services Engineering. A UAE MoE Equivalency Certificate is mandatory.
• Experience:
  
  A minimum 5 years of experience in the UAE working for a General Contractor or EPC company.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Deep knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and UAE authority (DMT, ADDC, Civil Defense) standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is required.
• Languages:
  
  Fluent English (Upper-Intermediate or higher);
  Arabic is a distinct advantage.

• Technical Leadership & Coordination:
• Review and approve all design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittal for technical compliance (ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO).
• Serve as the main technical point of contact for all on-site mechanical activities, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
• Resolve technical discrepancies and ensure site execution aligns with approved documentation.
• Site Execution & Quality Control:
• Plan, organize, and supervise the daily execution of all mechanical works.
• Conduct rigorous inspections to verify compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
• Monitor manpower and resources, and verify completed work quantities for subcontractor payments.
• Collaborate with QA/QC, Planning, and HSE teams to maintain the highest levels of safety and quality.
• Lead the testing, balancing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting.
• Oversee functional performance tests and coordinate with authorities (DMT, Civil Defense) for final approvals.
• Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of all as-built drawings and handover documentation.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting:
• Act as the primary mechanical liaison between subcontractors, consultants, and project management.
• Prepare and submit detailed daily and weekly progress reports, highlighting risks and deviations.
• Participate in key site meetings and support the Project Manager in progress claims and schedule adherence.
