AV / ELV Presale Design Engineer

Provide technical expertise to qualify opportunities, design AV/ELV solutions, and support the sales team in winning projects by working on system design, BOQs, costing, technical proposals, and presentations for AV and ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, PA, and other low-voltage systems, while acting as the technical interface between clients, sales, vendors, and internal engineering and project teams.

Experience: 3-5 Years of experience in ELV presales design engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site surveys, needs assessments and review RFPs/RFQs to capture technical and commercial requirements.
• complete AV and ELV solutions (schematics, one-line diagrams, layouts, signal-flow, rack elevations, device placement, network requirements).
• Prepare BOQ, cost estimation and pricing, including equipment, services and optional items, ensuring competitiveness and margin.
• Develop technical proposals, scopes of work, method statements and operational narratives aligned with client specifications and standards.
• Create tender responses and technical submissions, including compliance statements and clarifications/RFIs.
• Deliver technical presentations and product/system demonstrations to consultants, end users and contractors.
• Provide technical support to the sales team during client meetings, negotiations and bid defenses.
• Coordinate with vendors/manufacturers to obtain quotes, select products, and validate designs.
• Support project teams during handover of sold solutions, including design clarification and change support.

Typical systems covered:

• Audio Visual: meeting room and boardroom systems, video conferencing, projection and display, audio processing, control systems
• ELV: IP/analog CCTV, access control, biometric systems, intrusion/burglar alarm, public address/voice alarm, intercom, and related structured cabling.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of AV and ELV system design, integration, and relevant standards, plus basic IP networking for AV/ELV.
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, D-Tools or similar, and familiarity with major AV/ELV brands and platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions in simple terms.

Education:

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom/IT or related field, with 3+ years AV/ELV design or presales experience (or equivalent).
• CTS certification will be added skill set for the current position requirement.
