Parsons is looking for an experienced Senior Traction Power System Engineer to deliver innovative and reliable traction power solutions for a landmark metro project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art metro systems that set new benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. This role requires extensive experience in rail and metro projects, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the UAE or GCC region.

• Design and Implementation:
  Lead the design and implementation of traction power systems for metro operations, including substations rectifier-transformer units, and distribution systems (overhead catenary or third rail).
• System Analysis:
  Conduct load flow studies, short circuit analyses, and harmonic studies to ensure optimal power distribution and system reliability under varying operational conditions.
• Integration and
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including rail system engineers, civil designers, and operations experts, to deliver seamless and integrated power solutions tailored to metro needs.
• Upgrades and Optimization:
  Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades to support increased capacity, improved headways, and enhanced energy efficiency.
• Compliance and Standards:
  Ensure all designs and implementations comply with international metro safety standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and local regulatory requirements.
• Research and Innovation:
  Stay ahead of industry advancements, leveraging emerging technologies to design resilient and sustainable traction power systems.
• Testing and Commissioning:
  Oversee system validation, testing, and commissioning to guarantee safe and reliable operation, including SCADA integration and performance tuning.
• Technical Leadership:
  Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.
• Process Improvement:
  Recommend and implement process enhancements to streamline delivery and improve system performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools and software.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• GCC experience is preferred.
• Experience on large Rail Infrastructure program is a must.
• Must have experience in Client Interfacing roles or a Consultancy role.
