Associate Director - Technical Engineering

Black & Gray HR is recruiting for a leading Landscaping Company based out of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our client is looking to hire an Associate Director of Technical Engineering who will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical expertise for all engineering functions. This role is responsible for leading complex engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet business goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will drive innovation, improve efficiency, and lead a team of engineers to deliver excellent results.

• Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement the engineering strategy to support the company's long-term goals. Promote innovation, digital tools, and process improvements to keep the organization competitive. Advise senior leadership on technical issues, new technologies, and engineering best practices.
• Project Management – Oversee the planning, design, and execution of large-scale engineering projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Identify potential risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
• Compliance & Quality – Guarantee all work complies with UAE regulations and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, OSHA). Conduct safety and quality audits to maintain operational integrity. Embed sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into engineering operations.
• Team Leadership – Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Manage team resources and support career development through training and coaching.
• Stakeholder & Operational Management – Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and government authorities. Represent the company in technical meetings and negotiations. Manage budgets and resources efficiently to achieve cost‑effective outcomes.

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) is required. A Master’s degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration is preferred.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) are a plus.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering, project management, or technical operations within facilities management, construction, or infrastructure.
• At least 7–10 years in a senior leadership role, managing teams and large‑scale projects.

• Proven ability to provide strategic direction and lead engineering teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering design and project management.
• In-depth understanding of UAE laws and international engineering standards.
• Excellent leadership and talent development skills.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency with engineering software and data analysis tools.
