An Electrical Engineer specializing in roads and infrastructure plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within road construction projects and other infrastructure developments. This position involves collaborating with civil engineers, project managers, and other professionals to ensure electrical systems are integrated efficiently and safely within infrastructure projects. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards and codes, optimizing electrical processes, and overseeing the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles as well as the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams. The Electrical Engineer will also engage in troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues that arise during the project's lifecycle, ensuring that all components function seamlessly within the designed infrastructure.

• Design and plan electrical systems for road and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed project documentation and specifications for electrical components.
• Coordinate with civil engineers and project managers to integrate electrical designs.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations in designs.
• Prepare and manage budgets and schedules for electrical work in projects.
• Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems on-site.
• Conduct site inspections and testing of electrical installations for safety.
• Identify and resolve electrical design and installation issues during projects.
• Participate in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Continuously improve electrical systems for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Keep up with technological advancements and apply them to current projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical issues and project tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure electrical systems design.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
