General Description
This role will be responsible for project execution as per contract requirements & project guidelines in an efficient & cost-effective manner, ensuring absolute conformance in consolidating system history reports on a weekly basis accurately. Also, it will be accountable to ensure all project activities are accurately recorded in the Resource Management System.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities Project Operations and Deliveryh3>- Responsible for the execution of all operational works on multiple project sites simultaneously, from handover through to project closure including mobilization, procurement, installation, commissioning, monitoring and demobilization.
- Responsible for ensuring all work activities are planned and carried out in accordance with the Method Statement, contracted scope of works, best practices and client obligations. Any variances are to be reported to the LM prior to execution.
- Ensure the following site documentation is maintained for all projects:
- Delivery Notes
- Installation Reports
- Start Reports
- Damage Reports
- Stop Reports
- As Built Drawings
- Manpower Record
- Daily Activity Reports
- System History Reports
- Toolbox Talks
- Produce the following reports to the Line Manager:
- Project Status Report - Daily
- Project Profitability Report - Weekly
- Manpower Allocation / Requirements – Monthly
- Generate ad hoc site reports as requested by the Line Manager.
- Actively participate in meetings with clients regarding project progression and performance on site, as and when required.
- Participate in project review meetings with the Line Manager to aid in decision making on project performance, challenges and efficient utilization of resources.
- Ensure resources assigned for projects are carrying out their job as per defined role and the optimal utilization to avoid duplication of efforts and process.
- Serves as a single point of contact for all assigned site operation related aspects as well as the Operations team assigned.
- Support the Line Manager by providing technical, engineering, and practical judgment during initiation and through the project's life cycle.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory laws, including QHSE standards and reviews of site conditions, for any deviations from a QHSE perspective.
- Maintain good working relationship with all parties at all levels and times when representing the Company, Sub-Contractors, Staff and third parties.
- Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Company's QHSE Policies and Procedures and adherence to the same.
- Ensure safety targets and zero tolerances for unsafe working practices and conditions.
- Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined.
- Notify the Safety Officer regarding any unsafe or potentially hazardous situations on site.
- Prior to the commencement of site work, gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and requirements.
- On an ongoing basis, monitor all works against specifications to ensure the quality and accuracy of work performed is as per company standards.
- Notify the Line Manager of any defects, mistakes, errors, contamination or variations identified.
- Ensure all applicable quality checklists are properly completed.
- Set direction and objectives for team members and ensure achievement of their development plans.
- Works closely with internal project stakeholders assigned to resolve any project risks associated with contracts, documentation, and execution.
- Identify & address problems and opportunities; bring those which are appropriate to the Line Manager; and facilitate discussion & deliberation.
- Assist the Line Manager in preparing a rolling manpower plan for 6 months and justify needs for additional resources.
- Responsible for ensuring all necessary data/records and reports are submitted on time for monthly project billing.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized University. Studying in surveying / engineering or MRICS would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years of related work experience.
- Knowledge in Groundwater control.
- Experience in a Construction or Engineering industry with high turnover and activity.
- Setting of operational procedures, client and service provider negotiations etc. (which would all be necessary in running the operations).
- Experience in supervising multiple Construction projects.
- Ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide personnel at multiple sites.
- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.
- Excellent team skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively across variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
