We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer – Planning to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of complex building projects, ensuring their successful and timely completion.

• Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software for various stages of construction projects.
• Review and evaluate contractors’ baseline programs, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, sequencing logic, and resource allocation.
• Monitor and analyze construction activities’ progress, identifying variances from the plan and proposing innovative corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting key activities, milestones, delays, risks, and recovery measures.
• Evaluate and verify contractors’ Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analyses, and revised programs in accordance with contract procedures.
• Conduct trend analyses and “what-if” scenarios to assess the impact of changes and recommend mitigation plans.
• Coordinate planning deliverables with various teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across all project aspects.
• Participate in progress and coordination meetings, presenting schedule status and recovery strategies to clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in risk identification and mitigation planning, collaborating closely with project and construction managers.
• Ensure compliance with company’s Project Management and Controls procedures, maintaining proper documentation and data integrity.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior planners and site engineers in planning and scheduling techniques.
• Stay updated on local regulations and procedures relevant to infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of post-graduate experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for building projects.
• Proven expertise in developing and managing complex project schedules for stormwater, microtunneling, sewerage, and roadworks projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with mandatory certification.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other project control tools.
• In-depth understanding of Extension of Time (EOT) evaluation, critical path analysis (CPA), and resource-loaded schedules.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly to management and clients.
• Experience working on projects in the UAE or familiarity with local regulations and procedures is highly desirable.
• Professional accreditation or membership in a recognized engineering or project management institution (e.g., PMI, AACEI) is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a goal-oriented approach to project planning and execution.
• Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex planning challenges.
