Purpose of the position:
Contract Manager
Roles and Responsibilities- Custodian of the Contract
- Administration of the contract ensuring that the project is performed in line with contractual obligations
- Tracking client, subcontractors, vendors obligations
- Monitor contract risks of critical work packages and propose remedial actions
- Manage the change process on the project, including change orders, claims, back charges, penalties, etc.
- Liaising with project team, coordinate Contract Review, participate in meetings
- Administration of all contractual correspondence between Client and Contractor and between joint venture/consortium partners
- Check consistency between records, reports and correspondence, verify supporting documentation for invoicing and monitor payments to be in line with contractual terms
- Maintain liaison with other Saipem functions, especially with Financial Administration, Insurance, Procurement and Risk referents
- Ensure all Project Certificates are duly issued by clients (e.g., Milestone Completion Certificates, Mechanical Completion, Handover Certificate, Provisional Acceptance Certificate)
- Assist the Project Manager in managing the legal/contractual aspects of JV/consortium agreements
- Responsible for Project Change Order and Claims Management Process
- Provide para‑legal assistance to the Project Team and coordinate with Legal and Contracts Departments for any legal/contractual issues
- Ensure that required insurance coverage is timely put in place and that required insured certificates are provided
- Preliminary check of subcontracting plan and assist procurement in transferring main contract provisions and risks to subcontractors
- Assist in handling contract‑related correspondence, advising and supporting the management of claims with subcontractors
- Collect files and register of all bonds and guarantees ensuring they are issued, amended and discharged
- Prepare reporting for project, company and corporate
- 8+ years of relevant experience on EPC projects, preferably in offshore oil and gas construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics or related fields
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
