Job Description
Lead and manage all Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering activities for the IA / PA Upgrade Project.
Ensure full compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards, seamless integration of new compressor-package control systems with existing DCS / ESD / F&G / PMS / ECMS, and coordination across Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines through the Engineering Subcontractor and OEMs.
Key Responsibilities (Project Specific)
Instrumentation & Control Design- Review FEED and EPC deliverables (P&IDs, C&E matrices, instrument index, loop diagrams, hook-ups).
- Finalize instrument sizing, specifications, and installation details as per ADNOC standards.
- Develop and validate control narratives and logic for IA / PA compressor operation and inter-platform coordination.
- Review layout drawings for instrument location and accessibility on existing decks.
- Integrate compressor UCP panels (e.g., Atlas Copco) with existing ADNOC systems.

- Define signal mapping and communication protocols (Modbus RTU / TCP, Ethernet).
- Validate duty / standby logic and automatic start / stop sequences across platforms.
- Ensure reliable operation without disturbance to other platform control networks.
- Lead discipline reviews and approve I&C deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance on ADNOC standards and SOW requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Monitor and close TQs / RFIs and action items from design reviews.
- Liaise with OEMs and vendors for compressor, dryer, and control systems.
- Review vendor datasheets, I/O lists, control logic, and alarm philosophy.
- Participate in FAT / IFAT / SAT and verify signal testing and interlocks.
- Coordinate integration between vendor UCPs and ADNOC Offshore automation systems.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and PHSER workshops.
- Implement process safety instrumented functions (SIF) and verify SIL levels.
- Confirm alarm priorities, trip settings, and shutdown logic align with Operations.
- Review instrument installation details for tie-ins to live systems.
- Prepare and review method statements for instrument replacement and cabling works.
- Support loop checking, function tests, and C&E testing during commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC PTW and SIMOPS procedures.
- Maintain instrument interface registers and system interconnection diagrams.
- Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines for consistent signal and tie-in data.
- Ensure smooth handover of as-built I&C documents and asset register updates.

Interface and tie-in registers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Control / Electrical Engineering.
- ADNOC Offshore approval (or eligible).
- Functional Safety (SIL) and Hazard Study training preferred.
- PMP or equivalent certification advantageous.
- 15 years of EPC Oil & Gas I&C experience.
- Minimum 5 years in ADNOC Offshore brownfield projects.
- Strong background in compressor package control and automation integration.
- Experience with vendor / OEM coordination and FAT / SAT activities.
- Proven capability in design review and engineering subcontractor management

- PLC / SCADA (UCP for compressor packages)
- SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) / Aveva Instrument / Hexagon Tools

- Logic development and simulation tools
- Excel-based signal list and I/O management
- ADNOC PMS / ECMS submission systems
- MS Office, MS Project (basic schedule review)
- Strong understanding of DCS / ESD / F&G architecture
- Expertise in control logic and instrument integration
- Fluent in signal mapping and loop checking procedures
- Excellent vendor and stakeholder coordination skills
- Knowledge of ADNOC Offshore standards
- Awareness of brownfield SIMOPS and PTW protocols
- Detail-oriented and technically strong
- Proactive and accountable
