As an OHL Engineer, you will be responsible to plan, supervise, and support all engineering and construction activities related to Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) projects up to 400 kV, ensuring compliance with design, safety, and quality standards. The role involves site coordination, technical reviews, and assistance during installation, testing, and commissioning.
Key Accountabilities- Assist in the design review, route survey, and preparation of construction drawings for OHL projects.
- Supervise tower foundation, erection, stringing, and sagging works in line with project specifications.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely material delivery and proper execution.
- Review method statements, ITPs, and work procedures to ensure adherence toutility and international standards(TRANSCO, DEWA, ADDC, SEC, IEC, BS).
- Ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards during all site activities.
- Prepare daily progress reports and support the Construction Manager in project tracking and documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve site technical issues.
- Support testing and commissioning teams during line inspection and energization stages.
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in OHL engineering or construction (11 kV to 400 kV).
- Previous experience in UAE or Gulf region is preferred.
- Familiar with tower types, foundation systems, stringing methods, and OPGW works.
- Understanding of electrical clearances, conductor configurations, and safety procedures.
- Awareness of surveying tools, GPS, and alignment checks.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and basic design/route analysis tools.
- PMP or safety certification (IOSH/NEBOSH) is an added advantage.
