Company: EDGE Group PJSC
ABOUT EDGEAt EDGE bold ideas are engineered into technologies that protect, improve and save lives.
Headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, EDGE is a leading advanced technology group working at the forefront of defence and emerging technologies. Spanning more than 35 specialised companies and multiple centres of excellence, we are purpose-built to move fast. Free from heavy legacy processes, we give our people the autonomy, accountability, and agility to bring breakthrough technologies from concept to reality.
Together, we are shaping the future.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Flight Quality & Simulation (FQS) Engineer to support the development, integration, verification and validation of aircraft flight dynamics and simulation models.
The role requires strong technical expertise in aircraft 6-DOF modelling, MATLAB/Simulink, aerodynamics, flight dynamics and real-time simulation. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and assessment of high-fidelity aircraft models, flight-quality evaluations and simulation environments supporting advanced aerospace and mission systems projects.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience developing and modifying nonlinear aircraft dynamic models, conducting flight dynamics analysis and integrating models into real-time simulation environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, modify and maintain nonlinear six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) aircraft dynamic models.
- Develop and integrate aircraft mathematical models using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Perform aircraft flight dynamics analysis, including stability, control, trim and linearization assessments.
- Develop, integrate and analyse aerodynamic databases using CFD, wind-tunnel and flight-test data.
- Conduct flight-quality and handling-qualities assessments against applicable aerospace standards.
- Support model development, integration and execution within real-time simulation environments.
- Perform Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
- Conduct model verification and validation (V&V), including simulation accuracy assessments and test correlation.
- Support fixed-step simulation execution and code generation for real-time applications.
- Troubleshoot model performance, simulation discrepancies and integration issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support aircraft simulation and system development activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, simulation reports and verification evidence.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in aircraft flight dynamics, simulation or aerospace modelling.
- Strong working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
- Understanding of aircraft dynamics, stability and control principles.
- Knowledge of aircraft aerodynamic characteristics and mathematical modelling.
- Experience working with aircraft simulation models and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Flight Dynamics, Control Systems or a related discipline.
- Extensive hands‑on experience developing nonlinear aircraft 6-DOF models from the ground up.
- Advanced MATLAB/Simulink expertise, including model development, simulation, code generation and real‑time execution.
- Experience developing aerodynamic databases using CFD, wind‑tunnel testing and flight‑test data.
- Strong experience in aircraft stability, control, trim, linearization and handling‑qualities assessments.
- Practical experience with MIL/SIL/HIL simulation…
