Senior Specialist – SAP BTP Overview

The SAP Integration & Customization Expert will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing integrations, extensions, and AI‑driven customizations across the SAP ecosystem—leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Joule Studio. The role focuses on building seamless connectivity between SAP S/4

HANA, Success Factors, Service Now, MS Teams, and third‑party systems, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and compliance within the enterprise architecture. This position is pivotal in enabling AI‑powered business experiences through Joule (SAP’s AI layer) and custom BTP applications that enhance productivity, analytics, and user experience.

• Integration Architecture & Design
  • Design and implement integration frameworks between SAP S/4
    
    HANA, Success Factors, Ariba, Service Now, Docu Sign, Power BI, and other enterprise systems.
  • Utilize SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, Open Connectors) to build robust, scalable integration layers.
  • Define integration patterns, data mapping standards, and error‑handling protocols.
  • Ensure integrations comply with data security, privacy, and regulatory standards (SOC 2, TRA, ISO 27001).
• BTP Development & Customization
  • Develop custom extensions and Fiori applications using SAP BTP, CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), and UI5.
  • Build event‑driven, low‑code/no‑code applications and workflows that extend core SAP functionality.
  • Manage application lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments across development, QA, and production tenants.
  • Optimize performance and ensure scalability of deployed applications and integrations.
• Joule Studio Enablement
  • Design and configure Joule conversational and generative AI experiences for Finance, HR, and Procurement use cases.
  • Integrate Joule with MS Teams, SAP Portal, and third‑party platforms through BTP connectors.
  • Fine‑tune prompts, intents, and data sources to deliver contextual, role‑based insights and automation.
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify AI‑enablement opportunities and enhance digital adoption.
• Governance, Monitoring & Support
  • Establish strong monitoring, alerting, and logging mechanisms for all integrations and extensions.
  • Define governance frameworks for API usage, custom object creation, and change control.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure tenant isolation, SSO integration (Entra  / Azure AD), and secure API management.
  • Provide technical leadership during incident resolution, cutovers, and performance tuning.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with SAP functional consultants, data engineers, and business process owners to align solutions with enterprise needs.
  • Work closely with vendors and implementation partners to ensure technical consistency and compliance with architecture standards.
  • Support internal upskilling on BTP and Joule Studio by documenting best practices and reusable components.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in SAP integration, extension development, or technical architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, CAP, Fiori/UI5, and OData / REST APIs.
• Proven track record in integration between SAP and non‑SAP systems (Service Now, MS Teams, Docu Sign, etc.).
• Experience implementing or customizing SAP Joule AI / Joule Studio or equivalent GenAI frameworks.
• Proficiency in Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Node.js, Java, or Python for SAP BTP development.
• Strong understanding of security (OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSO, certificate‑based authentication).
• Experience working in agile, Dev Ops, and multi‑tenant enterprise environments.
