MISSION

Optimize cargo flows and vessel utilization across assigned trade lanes to ensure optimal loading performance, service reliability, and cost efficiency, in full alignment with Group strategy, operational constraints, and commercial priorities.

The role contributes directly to vessel optimization, customer service quality, and profitability through proactive monitoring, coordination, and continuous improvement of cargo flow processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Cargo Flow & Vessel Optimization
  • Monitor vessel utilization and cargo allocation across all commercial lines within scope.
  • Identify over‑utilization or under‑utilization situations and propose short‑ and long‑term corrective action plans.
  • Define loading priorities and participate actively in arbitration processes involving commercial teams, agents, partners, and operations.
  • Ensure optimal cargo routing in line with transit time commitments, operational feasibility, and network constraints.
Performance Monitoring & Risk Anticipation
  • Monitor key operational KPIs (vessel utilization, transit time reliability, service quality, costs).
  • Use forecasting and planning tools to anticipate operational risks (congestion, capacity imbalance, rollovers, transshipment issues).
  • Assess system performance and propose process or tool improvements to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
Cost Control & Service Quality
  • Monitor and actively reduce variable operational costs (transshipment storage, congestion‑related costs, inefficient routings, COV impacts, etc.).
  • Ensure service quality through optimised routings, reliable transit times, and adherence to Group service standards.
  • Contribute to profitability by balancing commercial opportunities with operational and cost constraints.
Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct operational studies to identify structural issues, optimisation opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Organise and deploy Group processes related to cargo optimisation, customer service, cost control, and KPI management, adapted to line specificities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new services or network adjustments in coordination with Line Management.
Projects & Digitalisation
  • Contribute to transversal and Group projects impacting cargo flow, systems or network design.
  • Actively support digitalisation initiatives by adopting and enhancing tools related to cargo flow management and decision‑making.
  • Pilot or contribute to projects assigned by management, ensuring timely execution and alignment with objectives.
Team & Knowledge Development
  • Assess team competencies related to cargo flow management, tools and processes.
  • Propose and support training plans to ensure continuous skill development and rapid adaptation to new tools or processes.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the team and across stakeholders.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree (Bachelor +5) in International Trade, Transport, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in shipping, preferably in cargo flow, vessel planning, operations or network optimisation.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of liner shipping operations, vessel utilisation, cargo allocation and network constraints.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong command of operational and planning systems.
  • High level of accuracy with figures and strong analytical capabilities.
Languages
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Additional languages are an asset.
Soft Skills
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical and anticipation skills.
  • Excellent coordination and communication abilities with multiple stakeholders.
