We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental policies are adhered to within our operations. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs aimed at minimizing accidents and promoting a safe work environment.

This position requires a strong understanding of local and international safety regulations, as well as the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and audits. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with safety standards and will actively participate in training and development programs to enhance safety awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Identify potential hazards and risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate these risks.
  • Prepare and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, compiling reports and making recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between management and staff regarding safety concerns and initiatives.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure readiness for potential incidents.
  • Preferred Candidate
  • Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management within an industrial or construction setting.
  • Good knowledge with Substation, Overhead Transmission Line & Under Ground Cable projects.
  • Membership with Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) is must.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using safety management software and tools for reporting and analysis.
  • Professional certifications in HSE (such as NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
  • A proactive attitude towards safety and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Risk Assessment: The ability to systematically evaluate potential hazards and risks associated with workplace activities, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to mitigate these risks.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices are maintained.
    • Incident Investigation: Proficiency in conducting thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Training and Development: Experience in designing and delivering effective safety training programs tailored to various audiences within the organization.

      Skills:

      Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying safety information and engaging with employees at all levels.
