Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Leader – North Gulf

Partner with the BestAs HSE Leader you will lead HSE strategy and execution across the North Gulf Geo Zone, ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes standards, local regulations, and customer requirements. You will drive a proactive safety culture, operational risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement Geo Zone HSE strategy aligned with Baker Hughes OFSE standards and regional business objectives. Ensure compliance with customer standards and other regulatory frameworks within North Gulf Countries (Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Turkey).
- Operational Excellence: Lead HSE audits, self‑assessments, and close‑out of corrective actions. Oversee incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, and preventive measures. Drive facility safety optimization projects and ensure readiness for critical operations.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with Geo Zone leadership, segment directors, and cross‑functional teams to embed HSE in all operations. Maintain strong relationships with customers and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment and trust. - People & Culture: Champion a safety‑first culture through leadership engagements, town halls, and site visits. Lead a team of HSE professionals and provide coaching and development across the Geo Zone.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to reduce risk and improve HSE performance metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health & safety, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and local regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and root‑cause analysis.
- Strong understanding of Baker Hughes HSE Management System and OFSE operational processes.
- Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools for HSE performance metrics.
- Zero Harm Performance:
Reduction in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Incidents (LTI). - Audit Compliance: 100 % closure of regulatory and internal audit findings within agreed timelines.
- Training Completion: 100 % compliance with mandatory HSE training for all personnel.
- Customer Satisfaction:
Positive feedback on HSE performance during audits and engagements. - Leadership Engagement:
Regular HSE site visits and documented leadership interactions.
