Description

We engineer and build natural gas processing facilities, compression facilities, and heavy oil in-situ processing facilities.
The Chemical Engineer will assist Process Engineering Supervisors and Managers and guide Process Engineers-in-Training in the development and presentation of lump sum proposals, process design, and detailed design of key heat exchangers, vessels, fractionation towers, and utility systems. This position will pro-actively identify where processes can be adapted and optimized to ensure cost effectiveness, as well as verify practices for efficiency and accuracy in order to implement processes that are safe and improve quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply practical knowledge and develop broad based skills while contributing to the overall success of Propak’s operations through interaction with a cross functional teamWorking with senior engineers assist in the development of conceptual and detailed process designProvides technical direction and leadership to Process Engineers-in-TrainingProvide control narrative and control scheme developmentIssue cause and effect design developmentApply knowledge of process engineering software to perform process simulationsCreate process flowsheet and P&Preparation and modification of line listDevelopment of equipment and instrumentation requirementsPrepare equipment data sheets and specificationsProvide detailed equipment sizing, design, selection, and specificationTake part in tendering, specifying, and selection of major equipmentResponsible for control valve and PSV sizingParticipate in P&, and HAZOPsParticipate in 3D model reviewsApply technical knowledge to flare system design and modellingLiaise with other engineering disciplines in the preparation and presentation of project proposalsQualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited universityProfessional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or eligible for membership.5+ years of directly related experience applying principles of Chemical Engineering to specifications and design of process equipment for oil and gas processing facilitiesExperience with in an EPC and EPCM work environmentExperience working with HYSIS and other engineering softwareAbility to work independently and in a team environmentFlexible and able to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlinesAdapts to changing demands and takes independent action to accomplish objectivesSuperior interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphical communication skills; communicates clearly and respectfullyUnderstands complex verbal and written instructionsExcellent reading, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize complex informationDetail-oriented, with excellent organizational, time management, and planning skillsWhat we offer:
