About the RoleWe are currently looking for friendly, outgoing, and customer‑service driven individuals to join our team as Sales Associates at our Wine and Beyond store in AIRDRIE, AB. The primary purpose of the job is to provide exemplary customer service to every person who walks into our store, understand customer needs, and instill a customer mindset within the store. You will also participate in stocking and merchandising of the store to ensure it is stocked and ready to serve our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exemplary customer service to all customers.
- Greet customers and assist them in product selection.
- Generate sales by educating, sampling, and suggesting products.
- Maintain high service and product knowledge by completing all training within the required timeline.
- Assist customers in store and offer car service when appropriate.
- Complete customer transactions on the point‑of‑sale (POS) device, ensuring all cash handling policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Perform opening and closing procedures (when applicable) and ensure all procedures are done correctly.
- Stock shelves and cooler with products, and participate in merchandising and promotional activities.
- Participate in routine store maintenance and cleaning.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies, including OHS, LP, Pro Serve/Serving It Right, and other relevant guidelines.
- Participate in health inspections, audits, and required corrective actions.
- Maintain required safety and security measures, ensuring safe is locked at all times and deposits are secured.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a retail environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Pro Serve/Serving It Right certification (or willingness to obtain before commencing work).
- First‑Aid certificate is considered an asset.
- Training in wine, beer, or spirits is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, customer‑service driven, with a strong sales background.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Available to work a varied retail schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to climb ladders.
- Workplace hazards include robbery and shoplifting, overexertion injuries, slips/trips/falls, broken glass, and knives.
