• Commitment to excellence in Health & Safety in design, complying fully with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations and all other relevant H&S legislation.
• In‑depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes and equipment, including pumping systems.
• Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients.
• Ability to produce clear and concise electrical design deliverables across all design stages of a project.
• Ability to manage design delivery and project manage.
• Leadership skills to manage and motivate individuals to consistently deliver.

• Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland to support workload.

• Reporting to the Design Manager.
• Part of a multi‑disciplined team of engineers responsible for producing design deliverables for water, wastewater and process treatment plants.
• Assist in all aspects of Electrical design from site surveys of existing assets, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design and tender pricing.
• Production of procurement specifications for Electrical equipment, cable calculations and detailed design construction drawings.
• Project‑manage third‑party designs and provide design assistance to installation and commissioning teams; liaise with clients and subcontractors.
• Work as part of a team to support project delivery function, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
• Ensure Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to.
• Monitor design delivery performance and efficiency, adjusting and reacting as necessary to ensure targets are achieved and keeping the MIDP up to date.
• Produce Electrical design outputs as required.
• Ensure Glanua’s and the Clients’ Technical Requirements are met throughout the design.
• Conduct regular meetings with project delivery teams to allocate resources, monitor the plan and adjust as necessary in consultation with the project delivery teams.
• Monitor and update Design Change Control.
• Liaise between Mechanical and Civil & Structural Designers.
• Be involved in the growth and development of the company, including expansion of the direct delivery model; tasks include the development of business cases for onboarding staff, gap analysis, recruitment and structuring.
• Provide robust leadership and a sounding board for supporting site teams.
• Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring and training of more junior staff.
• Other duties as required from time to time.

• Chartered or Incorporated member of the IET with extensive experience in water or wastewater, non‑infrastructure, and infrastructure design.
